Estupa de Boudhanath. Katmandú, Nepal. CESICAM 2014

Nepal is a country of 30 million people located between India and China. Located in a geo-strategic region for China and India, Nepal stability and position of their leaders affects interests that are highly sensitive to these nations. For China it is important to ensure that Nepal does not support in any way the independence movement in Tibet, while seeking equitable conditions for investors in Nepalese territory. For India the issue of security on the border with Nepal is vital given the strengthening and separatist rebels in the northern states groups, while for the small country it is important that this argument under its sovereignty is violated.
